Match Report
Puddletown 4 - 2 Piddlehinton
After a good midweek performance Piddle were brought back down to earth with a bump after being well beaten by a strong physical Puddletown side on a windy and rainy day. After a bright start from both sides it was Piddle who broke the deadlock after five minutes following a good move with Cutler finishing at the far post from a pinpoint Hargreaves cross. Puddletown responded by piling on the pressure and got a deserved equalizer from a well struck shot from 18 yards into the corner. Piddle then went 2-1 up via an own goal through Ross Moors whose header back to his keeper span wildly and found its way into the net. The second half started with Puddletown on the front foot and it didn't take long to get the equalizer which came direct from a corner. From then on it was all Puddletown who added a 3rd and 4th before the final whistle. Piddle were denied a chance for a consolation goal late on when Jeanes was bought down in the area but somehow the referee and the linesman failed to give the spot kick. Piddle will certainly have to up their performance next saturday or it could turn out to be a long hard season.
