Match Report

Piddlehinton 0 -3 Puddletown
After a good result last week Piddle were bought back down to earth with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Puddletown who were full of confidence following their great result at Upwey last weekend.
The first half was a subdued affair with both teams struggling with the strong wind and only a handful of corners was Puddletown's main threat and they could not use the wind to their advantage , Piddles only threat came from a Mike Smith half chance. HT 0-0.
After a half time team talk Piddle were confident of getting something from the game as they would use the strong wind behind them to pepper the Puddletown goal with long shots, but as they went out for the second half the wind died and with that so did Piddle's chance of a victory. Puddletown dominated the half and their breakthrough came not long into it with their striker latching onto a through ball and coolly taking the ball around Bennett and slotting it home.
The second came not long after from a free kick 20 yards out and the Puddle midfielder scuffed his free kick which somehow eluded bennett and squirmed into the corner. Mike Smith then came off injured and that was followed by Jeanes having not recovered from his hamstring strain the previous week.
The final blow came with about ten mins remaining after a break from the left and a cross taking a ricochet off a couple of defenders and finding the striker of a tap in. Piddle's poor luck continued as after the match a trip to A&E confirmed Minhinnick has a broken wrist and Smith a badly bruised knee.
