Match Report
Lytchett RT 2 - 6 Piddlehinton
Piddlehinton followed up their 5-3 win last week with a 6-2 demolition of Lytchett Red Triangle. Piddle could have easily reached double figures if it wasn't for an outstanding display from Lytchett's keeper, and the intervention of the woodwork five times. Piddle began brightly with Hargreaves forcing excellent saves from the Lytchett keeper on three seperate occassions. It was only a matter of time before piddle scored as they dominated proceedings. Dovell opened the scoring when he ghosted in at the far post to volley home a Smith cross to put Piddle 1-0 up. Lytchett were restricted to a long ball game and it was a flick from one of these that gave Lytchett an undeserved equaliser. The advantage was soon restored as Hargeaves beat two men before cooly slotting home. HT 2-1
Piddle scored almost instantly after the restart when a Smith cross found Hargreaves at the far post who continued his recent hot form with another clinical finish. A poor Lytchett clearance then let Smith rob his man and he advanced into the box before driving the ball past the overworked Lytchett keeper. Dovell then scored the goal of the game with a spectacular half volley from a Cutler cross. Dovell claimed his hat trick when he picked up a loose ball in midfield and surged into the penalty area placing a scuffed shot into the corner of the net, and celebrated in style with a forward flip. There was time for Lytchett to grab a late consolation when Mcghee converted a Lytchett corner with a bullet header into his own net leaving Cocker no chance.
