Match Report

Swanage 3 - 0 Piddlehinton
Piddle travelled to Swanage looking for all 3 points against a team that had lost 4 of their opening 5 fixtures. However, expectations were soon lowered when Piddle discovered the Swans Premier league first team were without a game and so 5 first team players lined up for the home team.
Piddle struggled from the kick off, with the lightning fast swans first team striker Jacob Harrop causing all kinds of problems up front. It was the away team who had the first chance to open the scroing though when Bushnell found his initial header saved and could only blast the rebound over the bar.
The referee was absolutely dreadful and having a real shocker, thankfully for both teams. It was his dubious penalty award after a Rose challenge in the box that led to the opener. Harrops fierce penalty was unlucky not to be stopped by Bennett who got a solid hand to it, but the pace of the shot carried it into the net. HT 1-0.
Swanage continued to dominate the second half with Piddle chances far and few between. Harrop got his hat-trick with strikes from outside the box to put the game beyond doubt. The quality of subs swanage brought on in the second half showed what Piddle would have been faced with had the 5 first teamers not played, and would of been a game Piddle should have won comfortably.
