Harbour View 2 - 4 Piddlehinton
Piddle progressed through to the quarter finals of the Dorset Junior Cup with a battling performance against a decent Harbour View side. The corresponding league fixture had ended in a 5-2 victory for the Piddle but this game provided a much sterner test than the 4-2 scoreline suggested.
Chris Cocker returned in the Piddle goal for the injured Bennett (Dislocated finger) and he was called on early doors tipping one effort over the bar, and saving a one on one after the Piddle offside trap broke down. It was Jeanes however who opened the scoring for the away side, beating his man for pace and slotting past the keeper.
Bushnell made it 2-0 with a virtuosso run, twisting the Harbour defender in and out before unleashing into the net. The home team pulled a goal back when they broke down the wing from a Piddle throw in their own half and the cross into the box was calmly finished. Some intricate forward play by the Piddle front men restored the two goal cushion with Jeanes converting Bushnells cross. HT 2-1
Piddle were under alot of pressure in the second half and scored against the run of play, with Bushnell scoring a rare headed goal from close range. It really was backs to the wall stuff for the last minute and Harbour View reduced the deficit when a cross from the right was headed into the top corner by the striker.
Piddle managed to hold out for a 4-2 which puts them into the last eight where they will face Drimpton FC.
